1. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE
Kids On Stage, Inc. (“KOS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our students and their families. This Privacy Policy outlines our data handling practices and supplements the KOS Terms and Conditions of Enrollment. As a business operating in California, we are committed to complying with all relevant state and federal regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information necessary for the enrollment, instruction, safety, and administration of our performing arts programs. The categories of Personal Information (PI) we collect include:
A. Information Collected from Parents/Guardians:
- Identifiers: Full name, mailing address, email address, phone number (mobile and landline), and billing information.
- Financial Information: Payment card details (processed securely by a third-party service provider, not stored by KOS) and tax ID/EIN (for business verification, if applicable).
B. Information Collected about Students:
- Identifiers and Safety: Full name, birth date, age, allergies, medical conditions, emergency contact information (PII of the emergency contact), and doctor’s information.
- Photos/Media: Images, photographs, and video recordings (used per the explicit consent granted in the Enrollment Terms).
C. Technical and Usage Data:
- Information related to website visits, IP address, browser type, and duration of visit (collected via cookies and analytics for quality improvement).
3. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
KOS is the sole user of the information collected. We use the personal information for the following specific business and operational purposes:
- Service Delivery: To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including class scheduling, providing the Services, and fulfilling billing and collection.
- Communication & Alerts: To reply to your questions, inquiries, or customer service requests, or to send you transactional notices, updates, security alerts, or support and administrative messages.
- Safety and Emergency: To attend to any health problem or injury, administer medical care (per the Authorization to Treat a Minor), and to provide urgent safety alerts or administrative notices.
- Marketing & Improvement: To send you our newsletter, or other information or marketing about our Services that we feel may be of interest to you. To monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with our Services and to improve the Services.
- Promotional Use: To make unlimited use of photographs, recordings, and reproductions of the Student for promotional purposes, as authorized by the Photo & Video Release.
4. OUR COMMITMENT: NON-SHARING AND NON-SALE OF INFORMATION
KOS adheres to a strict policy of never selling or sharing your Personal Information.
KOS does not share your personal information with any outside or 3rd parties. The only exceptions are necessary disclosures to trusted service providers (defined below) or when required by law.
- SMS/Mobile Data: Mobile information, including SMS opt-in data and consent, is considered highly sensitive. This information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
- Trusted Service Providers: We may disclose information to third-party agents who perform essential business services for us (e.g., payment processing, email delivery, enrollment software). These parties are strictly prohibited from using your Personal Information for any purpose other than providing these contracted services to KOS and are required to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.
5. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your Personal Information:
A. Right to Know
You can request that KOS disclose the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you and how it is used.
B. Right to Delete
You have the right to request the deletion of Personal Information that KOS has collected from you, subject to exceptions (e.g., retaining health records necessary for the Student’s safety or information necessary for legal compliance).
C. Right to Correct
You have the right to request that KOS correct any inaccurate Personal Information we maintain about you.
D. Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing
Although KOS does not sell or share your Personal Information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising, you retain the right to direct us not to do so.

6. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY (MINORS UNDER 18)
KOS strictly adheres to laws governing children’s privacy. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. All data collected about a Student is provided by the Parent/Guardian and requires their affirmative consent during the enrollment process. Parents/Guardians may review their child’s information and request its deletion by contacting the KOS Privacy Officer.
7. DATA SECURITY
We employ physical, electronic, and managerial procedures designed to safeguard the Personal Information we collect from unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction. We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, including fulfilling our legal or safety obligations.
